OUR MISSION

At Bakersfield Braves Baseball Club, founded by Director Bob Maitia, our mission is to develop young baseball and softball players into exceptional athletes—and even better young men and women. We are a club organization dedicated to hard work, character, and long-term development, not just wins on the scoreboard.
 
We believe that with commitment, perseverance, and the right guidance, there is a place to play after high school for everyone. Our program provides a safe, competitive environment where players are challenged, supported, and allowed to grow through both success and failure.
 
As Coach Maitia says,
“We want you to make 999 errors with us without fear of failure or punishment. When you make the 1,000th error, it won’t phase you one bit.”
 
We don’t just teach the game—we build confidence, resilience, and lifelong values.
 

OUR STAFF

Our staff is made up of experienced professionals who are passionate about developing talent and building character through the game of baseball. With backgrounds ranging from collegiate to professional play and coaching, our team is dedicated to providing expert instruction, personalized training, and mentorship to help every athlete reach their full potential.

Kyle Jean has been a part of BBA and the Bakersfield Braves since the beginning. Graduating from Stockdale High School in 2002, Jean played for Bob Maitia's Braves as a Junior and Senior in HS. He returned to the Braves as a coach during the summer of his freshman year of college at CSU Northridge. Kyle has been a part of the academy ever since, including starting the first 12u teams in 2016.
